We all face an assortment of risks every day. Why within an hour of getting out of bed we could slip and fall in the shower, spill hot coffee in our laps at the breakfast table, or even have an accident driving to work. Yet we do all these things every day without a second thought, and nobody accuses us of risky behavior because of it.
Just as we assume certain risks just to function in every day life, we must also accept certain risks to move forward in our financial lives. Avoiding the risks that come with building a secure financial future is no more an option than staying in bed all day.
Taking necessary precautions is what separates healthy risk taking from “risky behavior” in finances as in every aspect of life.
