New Year’s Resolutions – always an interesting process. The idea is that we become resolute about something. We resolve to make a change in our lives. Finances are one of the usual targets. The success rate for New Year’s resolutions are not very high. Part of the reason is that many times we are listening to someone else’s voice and trying to adopt another person’s goals into our finances. The best resolutions succeed because they are consistent with our lives and our voice. When we choose a resolution that is consistent with our life, then we are building from our inner life and that can be a great foundation!
When we have listened properly, then the necessary daily habits won’t be burdensome or monotonous. They will be natural and the sacrifices we make to build a new reality won’t seem difficult. So, it’s ok to reevaluate the resolutions you set and ask yourself some of the big questions about your present and how you would like to see the future.
The path to your future will still have some dark moments and discouraging days. That is why you need a Money Buddy to help out. A good listener who can help you sort out fact from fiction. On the dark side of the moon it’s very difficult to keep things straight and to reclaim our truth. That is a good time to lean on an Advisor and a friend.
So, best of luck to you in the New Year. Even if you are watching this at Mid Year, it’s never too late to begin again! Let us know if you need some help!
